Ratios
RATIOS
The ratio of children to carer, and the requirements for the carer are determined by the number and ages of children requiring care.
The minimum requirements of child carers to care for;
- Up to 2 children over 6 years old;

Booking Notice
NOTICE REQUIRED
All TourSIT bookings, a minimum 1 week (14 calendar days, or 10 working days) notice period is required. *Bookings are subject to availability.
PlayPAX are locally packed and consist of many items per activity, the following minimum notice periods are therefore required:
- Booking PlayPAX for up to 3 children in Cape Town: 5 working days notice
- Booking PlayPAX for 4 – 10 children: 10 to 15 working days notice
- Booking PlayPAX for more than 11+ children: 4 to 6 weeks notice is recommended
Rates
TOURSIT RATES
For TourSITs contracts, requiring 25 hours service or more, the following applies;
REGISTRATION
The Registration Fee is a once off fee of R 950. Once the request is processed it is not refundable and remains due whether the booking is completed or cancelled; as it covers our sourcing related costs.
PLACEMENT
- 1- 31 days Service: 35% of fee paid to contractor or minimum R 1950.
- 32 – 90 days Service: 30% of contract fee paid to contractor per month; or minimum R 1850 per month.
- 91+ days Service: 25% of contract fee paid to contractor per month; or minimum R 1750 per month.
SITTERS
The Sitter Fee covers the childcare providers service fees. Quoted dependent on:
- The Number and Ages of Children
- Duties and Needs of Children
- Service Area | City
- Experience Level
- Required Education Level
- Required Hours Required | Duration of Contract
AVERAGE RATES
- Night Nursing: From R 1150 to R 950 per shift
- Child Care Rate Range: from R 2800+ per day
- Student Care Rate Range: from R 3600+ per day
- Home and Administrative Care Rate Range: from R 2600+ per day
- Rates are charged per day unless quoted otherwise.
- A lower rate is generally offered on roles exceeding 3 days service.
- The minimum booking is 4 hours or the equivalent rate per booking.
- Double rates apply on public holidays and from 6pm on the evening prior to a public holiday.
TRAVEL | OTHER
Getting to the Booking Address
R 9 p/km (charged to and from) for any driving done in the candidates own vehicle at the contracting families request.Travelling with the family
All transport to join the family (flights or otherwise) are to be covered by the contracting family.Chaperoning | Outings
Add R 9 p/km from pick up point to return or drop off point.Valet | Parking
Valet/parking costs are paid by the client to the child carer or where guest bookings is required to add this to be deducted from the clients account.Accommodation
Private accommodation is to be paid for and covered by the family either at the same premises as the family or close by accommodation which offers a private sleeping and bathroom space in order for the contracting sitter to deliver the contracted childcare, education or other services.Meals
For TourSIT contracts, a minimum of 3 main meals must be covered and provided for, by the contracting family per day.Payments
PAYMENTS
TIMING
- All TourSITs contracts are paid in advance.
- Full fees are due to proceed with the service.
OVERTIME | LOGISTICS
- Any overtime, extra hours, or child-related expenses incurred during outings or activities are billed in arrears by latest the next working day for immediate payment.
- All fees for PlayPax, PlayBoxes, Hiring Items, damage deposits and delivery fees are due to confirm and receive these services.
- Any tips may be provided to the Sitter in cash on completion of the booking, else added to the bill for easy payment via credit card or debit card on completion of the booking.
PAYMENT METHODS
GuestCARE CLUB Members
- Guests of GuestCARE Members (Registered hotels, concierge etc) may, beyond making bookings on behalf of guests, also make payment on behalf of their guests saving guests the 5% fee paid for credit card payments if processed by EFT.
- SitSnapp can alternatively send your guest a link directly for processing of payment for the requested booking via credit card.
- Local South African Guests may process payment via EFT or credit card.
Private Travelling Families
- Directly contracting Local and International guests are welcome to pay via Credit Card.
- Else, if you are a South African family, or have South African friends or family happy to make payment on your behalf, payment may be made by any South African account holder directly via EFT to our account.
Notes
Credit Card Payments attract a 5% Processing Fee.
Cancellations
TOURSIT CANCELLATIONS
For cancellations of TourSIT Contracts (totalling 25 hours or more across all bookings):
- Registration Fees are non-refundable.
- Placement Fees for TourSIT Contracts are non-refundable, as these fees relate to the agency’s service, which is deemed to have taken place once a candidate has been confirmed.
- 25 hours – 31 days: A minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required.
- If a contract of less than 31 days is cancelled without 2 weeks’ notice, any fees corresponding to the 2-week notice period are forfeited.
- If the remaining contract period is shorter than 2 weeks, the remaining service within that window is forfeited.
- 32 days – 180 days: A minimum of 1 month’s notice is required.
- If a contract exceeding 32 days is cancelled without the required notice, the fees corresponding to the notice window are forfeited.
- If the remaining contract period is shorter than 1 month, the remaining service within that window is forfeited.
- If the originally booked contract period extends beyond the notice period, up to 50% of the remaining sitter fees beyond the notice period may be refunded at the agency’s discretion.
- Requests to change the hours of a confirmed booking within a TourSIT contract must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance. If less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, the originally scheduled hours will be deemed used and are non-refundable, though the sitter may accommodate if available.
- In the event of cancellation of a contract initially agreed at a reduced rate due to a longer booked duration, the rate shall revert to the standard rate applicable for the hours actually worked, as if the booking had been made at such rate from the commencement of the contract.
- In the event of a cancellation of an unconfirmed booking, a 100% refund of the ‘Sitter Fees’ will be issued or may be credited to be used for your next booking.
- Any approved refunds will be processed within 3–15 working days.
